La Liga
The new season has started and Real Madrid won their first game vs Real Betis. And yup, David Beckham scored his second goal for Real. I do like David Beckham (he is hot, after all!) but I didn't like his move to Real Madrid. Sure, I didn't like Zidane when he first moved to Real - but he eventually grew on me. But Ronaldo and Beckham... I think their another story. I don't know. I just don't like the way the managers and the owners operate. Spanish players, especially the local Madrid boys, are losing their place on the team. Real Madrid is turning into an International Club of some sort and no longer a Spanish Club. I'e nothing against Becks or Ronaldo or any other foreign player... I just pity the likes of Guti (who has proven much but only played some) and Morientes (who is one great player and was Raul's partner but is now loaned to French Club, Monaco). Oh well. I just hope my team will have one helluva season (especially at the UEFA Champs League) and of course, more goals from Raul!

Physics results comes out tomorrow... and I'll also have a Math exam on Tuesday. Tell me, when will I ever get a break from all these shitty exams?

Pagsubok
Orient Pearl
Isip mo'y litong lito
Sa mga panahong nais mong maaliw
Bakit ba bumabalakid
Ang iyong mundong ginagalawan
Ang buhay ay sadyang ganyan
Sulirani'y di mapigilan
Itanim mo lang sa 'yong pusong
Kaya mo yan....
Chorus:
Pagkabigo't alinlangang
Gumugulo sa isipan
Mga pagsubok lamang 'yan
Huwag mong itigil ang laban
Huwag mong isuko....at 'yong labanan
Huwag mong isiping ikaw lamang
Ang may madilim na kapalaran
Hindi ikaw tatalikuran
Ng ating Ama na siyang lumikha
Hindi lang ikaw ang nagdurusa
At hindi lang ikaw ang lumuluha
Pasakit mo'y may katapusan
Kaya mo 'yan....

Life has suddenly become so exhausting...
Kay, Den and I have been working hard for long hours on our model for our Design class and yet... we still haven't seen any progress. It just feels so shitty and so tiring... it's looking like all our efforts are fruitless. I just hope, wish and pray we finish it soon. It's due this Wednesday.
Anyway, despite all the work to be done, some of us still managed to have fun and watched a movie last night. Kay has been planning it for days but it was too bad that only a few of us got to come along, namely: Jid, Jik, Ben, Jax and Kay. But we still had fun anyway... Oh and we watched The Pirates of the Caribbean, btw. Twas a good enough movie. Quite entertaining and didn't require much analysis of some sort - just what we really wanted. It was really a great night.
Oh... I'm still dreading the results of that Physics exam - we'll be getting the results on Monday. But on a happier note, Andy won his 2nd round match at the US Open vs Ivan Ljubicic, 6-3, 6-7, 6-3, 7-6. Twas a tough and exhilirating match, especially at the end. And btw, Happy Birthday Andy!

The Physics 2nd Exam
... sucked. Big time. It was no use staying up practically all-night to study and understand 5 long chapters on work, energy, rotation, momentum and other shitty concepts... because in the end, I hardly understood anything. At all. I've read a chapter for hours and end up not even knowing how to solve the examples because of the millions of formulas/formulae needed.
Dammit.
I'd be lucky to even pass that one. Yes, I am the ultimate pessimist after all. I'd be okay if I get 18/40 though... I'd still have a passing mark for the average, as, thankfully, 50% is the passing grade for Physics.
The thing is, though... practically everyone tells me, they didn't get to finish reading and studying the chapters and ended up guessing the answers in the exam as well. Well, yes... it was really a tough one... but we'll just see who're lucky with the guessing-game and who aren't.
So help me, God.
* * *
And the Hell Week continues...
Still, the misery doesn't end there... we still have that 1:75 scale model for the group plate in Arch21, our Design class. Hopefully, we finish it by the end of the week... because we're darn sure, the following won't be too happy either.

The one song to describe IT all...
Hmmm... it was tough to find the lyrics of Sidney Brewers' Can This Be "Love"? I did find one in PEx. Some lines are just... absolutely perrrfect.
Why did you say you loved me?
Tell me, why did you say you cared?
Now that we have started this
I'm getting a little scared
...
I don't have all the answers
to what's really happening here
But to pass up this one chance
and never know... is now my biggest fear
...
I know the stronger these feelings become
The harder it's going to be
Be patience with me, darling
Give me a little more time
To make sure within myself
you were truly meant to be mine

Mariel's right. Yup. This is my song.
"You've already won me over in spite of me
And don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet
Don't be surprised if I love you for all that you are
I couldn't help it
It's all your fault."
Dammit.

So... Reichen and Chip won the Amazing Race 4. Ohwell. Still would've wanted the Clowns to win it...

Someone was kind enough and willing enough to be my slave-driver for today. Am really grateful.

I suck at measuring stuff. That's it. During groupworks, I'd just cut and paste or glue - never again will I measure anything!

I've been having lots of skin breakouts recently. Ugh. Must be having my period soon...

Don't people know that last-minute party plans won't do them any good?

I've got a swollen toe once again. In-grown toe nail, as usual. Gross.

Happy Birthday Ben! (and yes, today is really his birthday... um... I think...)

I hate the way you talk to me And the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
And the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick --
It even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh --
Even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it that you're not around
And the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way
I d on't hate you --
Not even close, not even a little bit, not any at all.

I suck at remembering birthdays!
Dammit. I've done it to a total of 8 people (2 in person and the rest through SMS) - greeted them Happy Birthday on the wrong day, that is! Jeez. I do it a day or two in advance... and I don't know why. It's like I know their birthdays coming up soon and when I think about which day it is, I always come up with the wrong day. Yes, even my cellphone's calendar has got wrong birthdates. Tsktsk.

Group Plates... Group Projects...
are just frustrating. You can't start on it nor do it alone. You have to compromise with the other members into what the outcome will be. You can't make too many mistakes coz there are other people to blame you. Hmph.

and again...
I didn't ask, they shouldn't have told me
At first I laughed, but now
It's sinking in fast, whatever they've sold me...

My song of the moment... Yes, I keep telling myself that. Nothing will change, that is...
Til I Hear It From You
by The Gin Blossoms
I didn't ask, they shouldn't have told me
At first I laughed, but now
It's sinking in fast, whatever they've sold me
Well baby, I don't want to take advice from fools
I'll just figure everything is cool
Til I hear it from you (hear it from you)
It gets hard, when memory's faded
Who gets what they say
It's likely they're just jealous and jaded
Well maybe I don't want to take advice from fools
I'll just figure everything is cool
Til I hear it from you (hear it from you)
Til I hear it from you (hear it from you)
I can't let it get me off
Break up my train of thought
As far as I know nothing's wrong
Til I hear it from you
Still thinking about not living without it
Outside looking in
Til we're talking about not stepping around it
Well maybe I don't want to take advice from fools
I'll just figure everything is cool
Til I hear it from you (hear it from you)
Til I hear it from you (hear it from you)
Til I hear it from you (hear it from you)
Til I hear it from you, oh no
Til I hear it from you, oh no
Til I hear it from you (won't take advice from fools, thinking everything is cool)
Til I hear it from you (won't take advice from fools, thinking everything is cool)
Til I hear it from you...
Tsktsktsk.

Shit. Shit. Shit.
There. I won't be deleting this blog anymore, but it would seem like I'd be starting from scratch once again - as I've deleted my old archive. I've done away with my past entries. I hate it. I feel so rotten. I can't believe I just did that. There's no turning back now... I can't undo it. Shit. I feel like I've erased a huge part of my life. I just feel sooo bad. Ugh.
Look what you've done? Asshole. How can you be so dense, huh? I don't suppose you've even realized what you've done up to now? Idiot. May araw ka rin!
To the other bloggers... Well, it sickens and pains me to say that yeah... I've done away with my past entries. Please bear with me. I just had to go through that. Thank you for visiting my blog and keep on visiting, please.
It sucks. But everything happens for a reason, I guess.

Hmmm..
Let's just say that I've just experienced every blogger's nightmare, every blogger's enemy: a snitch, a squabbler, a tattletale. It's one thing to read a blog, it's another thing to tell the whole world, including some controversial people, about it. I had thought bloggers had that "unspoken pact". Well, I've kept my end of the bargain, too bad some people didn't. I guess some people couldn't keep their mouth shut either.
Anyway, I'm still contemplating whether I should delete this blog or not. Damage has been done and I can't undo it. Tsk.
Oh what a tangled web we weave...

Had a good co-ed conversation with some friends from arki over YM last night. Love. Life. Complications. It really got me thinking... about something that has been going through my mind lately. People keep telling me that something's true for the obvious reasons, but I guess I'm still in denial and I still need proof in order to accept it. Did that make sense? Oh well. Life hardly makes sense to me anymore.
There were the questions... How do you know if you've fallen in love with someone? How do you tell someone, especially a friend, that you're in love with them? How do you know what's real or not?
Tsktsk.

I am 18, right?
Well... I don't feel like it. I don't feel like I've changed much. I still think I'm the same person five years ago - maybe with more experience, maybe with more knowledge but still the same person. I don't know. It just seems like the world has changed and well, I haven't.
Or maybe I just think that. Maybe I've changed a lot and never noticed it.
But it're true that life has gotten harder... Life has gotten more complicated. Three or five years ago, my problems were my grades and which TV show or movie to watch. Now, everything... and I mean, everything is a problem. School, family, friends, a so-called love life, society, etc, etc... They've all just managed to go crazy all at once. Tsk. I don't know what to do anymore.
God... why am I even thinking these things? Am I not busy enough that I have to torture my self with quasi-depressing and semi-philosophical thoughts?

On a happier note, Andy's in the finals of TMS Montreal... He'll face David Nalbandian. Go Roddick!
Saturday, August 09, 2003
Naw... this blog isn't dead yet. Neither is its blogger.
I've just been really busy with school lately. What's new, right? I just couldn't wait for this sem to be finally over. It just hasn't been healthy at all. I haven't been eating nor sleeping well. I'm always tired and moody. Tsktsk. Not good, I know.

Well, I'm just posting some delayed but positive results...

Barely Breathing
by Duncan Sheik
I know what you're doing
I see it all too clear
I only taste the saline when i kiss away your tears
You really had me going, wishing on a star
But the black holes that surround you are heavier by far
I believed in your confusion, you were so completely torn
It must've been that yesterday was the day that i was born
There's not much to examine, there's nothing left to hide
You really can't be serious, you hafta ask me why
I say goodbye...
Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air
Don't know who I am kidding
Imagining you care
And I could stand here waiting
A fool for another day
I don't suppose it's worth the prize and worth the price
The price that I would pay
Everyone keeps asking, what's it all about?
I used to be so certain and I can't figure out
What is this attraction? only feel the pain
There's nothing left to reason and only you to blame
Will it ever change?
Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air
I don't know who I'm kidding
Imaginging you care
And I could stand here waiting
A fool for another day
But I don't suppose it's worth the price, worth the price
The price that I would pay
But I'm thinking it over anyway...
I've come to find
I may never know
Your changing mind
Is it friend or foe?
I rise above
Or sink below
With every time
You Come and go
Please don't come and go
Cause I am barely breathing
And I can't find the air
I don't know who I'm kidding
Imagining you care
And I could stand here waiting
A fool for another day
But I don't suppose it's worth the prize and worth the price
The price that I would pay
But I'm thinking it over anyway...

Some Field Trip Pics!
the ultimate group pic
with the arki gals
Credits to Jas for the pictures!
Bad Boys 2
I went to the movies at Galle yesterday and saw Bad Boys 2 with Lorce, Kev, Deb and Jid. Twas a lot of fun. The sequel was just as funny - though I still liked the first one much better. I also had a blast with my friends. I was just thinking what an odd group we were. Kev, the party animal; Deb, the quiet one; Lorce, the overprotected Chinese daughter... and yeah, me and Jid out together with them. But yeah... it was a lot of fun, in a weird sort of way.
Deb and Lorce had their own rides pick them up afterwards while Jid and I rode with Kev. Man, traffic was pretty bad, I tell you! Jid was trying to catch the 10pm deadline of FX taxis so that he could go home to Meycauayan, but traffic was pretty bad so he had to just spend the night at his aunt's place at the Teacher's Village. Kev drove me back to my dorm and it wasn't such an easy task either, as UP was closed. We had to do lots of detours because of the many roadblocks! (Yes, like The Amazing Race!) I got to the dorm at around 10:30pm and my folks picked me up past 11pm.
I got home at a quarter to 1am and what do you know, YM people were still on. Chatted with some of them till 2am and then slept a much needed 10-hour sleep. Ha. I sooo love this weekend. This is my free weekend. Got nothing much to worry about...
* * *
While everyone's at it...
Let me state my opinions regarding the so-called coup de etat briefly. Firstly, I was not present in front of the television nor did I have access to other sort of media during the whole scenario. I was at my lousy field trip in Laguna and Quezon during that time. But as soon as I got back, I did get the chance to review and understand for my own sake what happened last weekend.
Let's just say, I am not truly fond or agreeable of what Capt. Trillanes and the other "young soldiers" did - It was not the best of plans and it did promote a negative image to the people and to foreign countries. But I am proud enough of what they've tried to do... They stood up against the government, against poverty and corruption, and tried to force a radical change. I just think that the Filipino people had been doing quite a lot of compromising and blind acceptance of all the crime and the shame that our country has been put through... and I am quite thankful even that those "young soldiers" saw it and wanted to improve it. They may've looked stupid and crazy and they may have failed... but they did something at the least. And that's more than what most of us has even done.
I don't go as far as worshipping them or even accepting their ideals. Who knows, they might've had their own little hidden agendas. But I salute them merely for trying to change the system of our damned - because it seems that people don't even want to try doing anything about it. And that's just a sad thought to begin with.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinions and well... that was mine.
* * *
There's something about the movie and something about this song... I just don't know what...
I Wanna Grow Old With You
by Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer)
I wanna make you smile
Whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
All I wanna do, is grow old with you
I'll get you medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
So, it could be so nice growing old with you,....
I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold
Need you
Feed you
Even let you hold the remote control.
So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink
Oh I could be the man that grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you.
