Rollercoaster Ride

Yesterday was one hell of a day…

It began with me getting a failing grade on my fourth exam in Math. That depressed the hell out of me. My standing is not so good. Dammit. Why am I sooo stupid?! Anyway, then we had to walk to Physics because all our friends and blockmates with cars were already gone!

And in Physics we had our weekly “recit” class… And would you believe that I got a perfect score?! Wtf? What happened there? I didn’t even study much. That was just pure dumb luck.

We had lunch at Tapa King and then we went through that crazy mock practical exam for Lab. It was tough but with Deb as a partner, we got through it fairly okay. The yucky thing was when I realized I had my period. Ugh… plus dysmenorrhea!

I then went back to the dorm to take some pain-reliever and rest for a while. Then that night I went out had one hell of a great time going around the mall and watching Once Upon A Time In Mexico. ("Are you a MexiCAN or are you a MexiCAN'T?")

Hmmm… I don’t really know if it was a good day or a bad day.

Mid-Week Madness

Just got back to the dorm a couple of hours ago from a so-called gimmick with a few college friends. We hung out at Beckham along Katipunan from 6pm to 9pm. Crazy, I know. I didn't get drunk but my friends sort of did.

Man, we were out late drinking on a Tuesday night?! Tsktsktsk. Can't remember how I got pulled into that one. Oh well. I did have fun anyway. Plus, it's a Wednesday and we don't have any class - though I'll still be working at Nina's place for our plate. Pffffft. I am sooo exhausted... and I missed Sex and the City! ;'(

Oh... On a happier note, I think I did pretty well on that Arch 17 midterm.

Oh dear.

I haven't had time to go online all week because of school! Argh. I didn't get to update my blog and my other journals. Hmph.

That Math exam yesterday was a killer. It was just absolutely unbelievable. I hope I passed but I doubt it. Shit. I sooo need to pass that exam. Or I'm dead.

"When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It errupts like an earthquake then it subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision; you have to work out whether your roots have become so intwined together that it is inconceivable that you two should ever part, because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness; it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day, it's not laying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No, that is just being in love, which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love, itself, is what is left over when being in love has burned away. Doesn't sound very exciting does it? But, it is."
~Captain Corelli's Mandolin

I've got barely 3 weeks of school left for this semester and things are getting harder than ever. Tsktsktsk. So help me God.

Read: Mush

I wanna let you in on a secret. I'm not who you think I am. In fact, my disguise is so thin, I'm surprised you haven't seen right through me...
I'm the girl of your dreams masquerading as your best friend...
Sometimes I want to rip off this facade like I did at the Spring Formal, but I can't...
because you'll get scared and you'll run away again. So, I decide it's better to live with a lie than expose my true feelings...
My dad told me there are two types of girls. The ones you grow out of..and the ones you grow into. I really hope I'm the latter...
I may not be the one you love today...but I'll let you go for now...hoping one day you'll fly back to me...because I think you're worth the wait.
~ Chloe, Smallville

Ouch. I so loved that episode.

* * *

I love you. And not in a friendly way, although I think we're great friends. And not in a misplaced affection, puppy-dog way, although I'm sure that's what you'll call it. And it's not because you're unattainable. I love you. Very simple, very truly. You're the epitome of every attribute and quality I've ever looked for in another person. I know you think of me as just a friend, and crossing that line is the furthest thing from an option you'd ever consider. But I had to say it. I can't take this anymore. I can't stand next to you without wanting to hold you. I can't look into your eyes without feeling that longing you only read about in trashy romance novels. I can't talk to you without wanting to express my love for everything you are. I know this will probably queer our friendship -no pun intended- but I had to say it, because I've never felt this before, and I like who I am because of it. And if bringing it to light means we can't hang out anymore, then that hurts me. But I could'nt allow another day to go by without getting it out there, regardless of the outcome, which by the look on your face is to be the inevitable shoot-down. And I'll accept that. But I know some part of you is hesitating for a moment, and if there is a moment of hesitiation, that means you feel something too. All I ask is that you not dismiss that -at least for ten seconds- and try to dwell in it. Alyssa, there isn't another soul on this fucking planet who's ever made me half the person I am when I'm with you, and I would risk this friendship for the chance to take it to the next plateau. Because it's there between you and me. You can't deny that. And even if we never speak again after tonight, please know that I'm forever changed because of who you are and what you've meant to me, which -while I do appreciate it- I'd never need a painting of birds bought at a diner to remind me of.
~ Chasing Amy

Best lines. I swear.

What's in a name?

Well, according to this site...

The name of *my real name here* has given you an appreciation for many beautiful and refined aspects of life--music and art, literature, drama--and the outdoors, where you find much peace and relaxation, but it creates a far too sensitive nature. You sense and feel much that you do not understand, and sometimes you are alarmed at your thoughts and wonder about their origin. You rarely experience the tranquility that comes with stability of thinking or emotional control. At times, you are very inspired, desiring to be with people and to entertain others as the "life of the party," while at other times you are aloof and choose to remove yourself entirely from association. You crave understanding and affection but your intensity of desire and your self-consciousness prevent you from finding the happiness you desire. You have suffered many disappointments and misunderstandings because of your inability to express your inner thoughts. You could experience sensitivity in the heart, lungs, or bronchial organs, causing tuberculosis, asthma, or depletion of your energies.

And they had to put the negative stuff in the end. Tsk-tsk.

A certain someone told me, "Your normal face is a frown."

Hmph. Di kaya. Well... not all the time. Besides, isn't it just natural for a person to frown rather than smile? Righttt?! Oh come on.

Waittaminute...

Can you guys view my blog properly? Or is it just me... Anyway, just got a tabulas account... Interesting, I tell yah.

Gilmore Girls was fun tonight. I'm beginning to like Jess much more than Dean.

Oh well... Gotta get off this and get back to work. Damn plates.

I want a new layout.

She just changed hers... Check it out. I'm too busy to even think of a new one, moreso design or make one. But I sooo need to change this layout. It's getting dull and boring. Help, anyone? =)

Why am I so chirpy and giddy lately?

I should really study Math and Physics. Like right now.

Love - - - a wildly misunderstood although highly desirable malfunction of the heart which weakens the brain, causes eyes to sparkle, cheeks to glow, blood pressure to rise and the lips to pucker.

Interesting definition there.

Had a great, long talk over the phone with my friend Kate. Gawd. I miss that girl. We sooo need to get together soon and catch up.

Ken Zhu, the absolute F4 cutie, is here (along with Vaness Wu and Barbie Xu). I am sooo over the Meteor Garden craze... But I just saw them on a TV interview thingy. Hell... My god. Ken. That smile just makes me melt. Some people can be waaay too good-looking to be human!

When people tell you that you're "blooming"... how do you react? I never know how to accept "compliments". Tsktsktsk.

"Close the window, calm the lights... and it will be alright..."

Dammit. Get that stupid song out of my head. It's been the ultimate LSS for this whole week! Ugh.

I never asked for this. I never asked for my heart to flutter and to beat fast. I never asked to have butterflies in my stomach. I never asked for something or someone to think about at night. I never asked to care about someone else other than my already miserable self. I never asked for someone to have this much control over me. I never asked to be like this... dazed, blissful and fleeting. I never asked to be in this complicated set-up. Really. But I'm in one... and there's no turning back now.

For some reason, I couldn't get into Blogger nor can I even view any .blogspot sites last night. It sucked. Anyway, I've been having a not-so-good semester... especially with Math and Physics. I'm doing fine (and even getting high grades) in my majors... but am having trouble with those damn acad subjects. The goal is to study like hell this whole month and mean it. I've no other choice. I'm doomed, if I don't.

Non-Stop Cheerdance Competition

Oh well. UP's slowly making a comeback. It was one heck of a routine, though! UST's routine was just more polished and well-executed. I even though FEU would've won it. We'll get it next year. And hopefully, we'll have better costumes... Please.

US Open 2003

Henin-Hardenne won the Women's Final... Now, it's Roddick vs Ferrero! Woo-hoo. This is just wayyy too awesome. Goodluck to Andy!

Gimme a Breakkk!

God. It feels good to finally get to blog again. I've been extremely busy the whole week finishing that damn model for my design class. I haven't had a good night's sleep in days! I feel like I've been living in Melchor Hall for quite a long time now! Thank God, it's all over and we had satisfying results all in all. Not to mention that I flunked that Physics exam (as expected)... and Physics lab is killing me (it is waaay too stressful to be a 1-unit subject!) Pffffft. Dammit. I sooo need a break.

Jeepney Rides

It's been awhile since I've ridden a jeepney around campus or even going home from school to the dorm. Firstly, Math is always my first class this sem and I either walk to the Math Building or ride a trike going there. Secondly, I could easily walk to my classes as they only cover 3 buildings: Melchor Hall, NIP and Math. Lastly, having blessed and kind friends and blockmates with cars doesn't hurt either.

Anyway, this afternoon going back to the dorm, I rode a Katipunan jeepney in front of the Main Lib. It was expectedly a long ride. While sitting there, watching passengers come on and off, seeing the buildings and trees go by and feeling the wind blow against my face... I realized how peaceful and how blissful a jeepney ride can be. It was a good time to think and to sort of take a big sigh of relief at the end of one long day.

Plus there are also other interesting things that could happen during a jeepney ride. It's fun to encounter weird people, hear (and possibly eavesdrop) on different conversations and a lot of other things. Yes... jeepney rides can be quite satisfying.

Good luck to the UP Pep Squad (especially to Ria)! Bring back the crown! UP Fight!
